Grand Canyon

Today I’m dreaming about summer.  This is a picture of my boys enjoying the view from last year’s summer vacation at the Grand Canyon!

Picture of the Day – Ciara

This is one of my favorite pictures I took while I was in Ireland.  I just love everything about it, especially, sweet, little Ciara.  She’s my cousin Noel’s youngest.  She was a hoot to get to know and is ready to take the world by storm at five!  More to come about Ciara and her siblings soon.

Temple Bar

Today’s photo comes to you from the streets of Dublin.  This is one of the city’s most famous pubs.  What a photo opt…it was gorgeous!   The cobblestone street it’s on is darling.  I love the bright red paint, the hanging plants and all the little fun signs posted.  It’s so warm and inviting, it’s no wonder this place is one of Ireland’s hot spots.  When can I go back?

Cara + Ray Wedding Sneak Peek

Introducing…Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson!!! Yay! They were married on Saturday at the gorgeous Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, Vermont.  What a place, what a couple, what a party!  Here’s a little sneak peek.  More to come soon…

Busy Life

Life has gotten progressively busy these days.  I suppose flying away to Ireland for 10 days may have added to my current chaos!  Oh, well, I’ve been certainly having fun but, unfortunately, haven’t had enough time to keep up with my blog, as I would like.  So for now, rather than neglect it, I will post a picture each day to let you know what I’ve been up to.  After all, they say, a picture is worth 1000 words!

Cara + Ray Engagement

I love spring.  Everything seems so fresh and new again and for a photographer it usually signals the start of a new wedding season.  I’m excited!  Photographing weddings is so precious to me.  Every time I book one I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be able to witness and document love.  Seriously, how many jobs offer this kind of work?  It’s crazy.  I love it!  Here are Cara and Ray.  I am super excited to document their wedding this weekend.  The smiles on their faces say it all…they really are that much fun!  We’re gonna rock it this weekend.  I can’t wait.  See you guys soon!

Surprise 40th!

This is a little slideshow I put together for my friend, Kristen.  Her husband, Mark, threw her a surprise birthday party.  To say he pulled it off is an understatement.  As I was photographing her reaction in the moment of her surprise, it dawned on me that not only was she surprised that he pulled it off, but perhaps even more surprised that all these people came out to celebrate her!  I think we forget how much we are loved sometimes. What a joy to see my friend Kristen overcome with emotion.  She is super loved by many and I’m glad she felt it that night.  Happy Birthday, Dear Friend!

One Year Ago…

One year ago today I launched this website!  Holy cow that year went fast. I want to make this year BIGGER than ever for take aim photography.  Wish me luck!  I have tons of stuff I want to accomplish, now it’s just a matter of getting it done.  “She believed she could, so she did” is the best little saying I ever heard.  I have it posted to my computer and look at it everyday as I chug along like the little engine that could! “Chug, chug, chug. Puff, puff, puff!”  Stay tuned to see what’s next…

Pet Parade

I find life is more fun when you are silly sometimes.  This is a silly idea that I had a while back and finally pulled it off this fall.  Watch….

The Roberts Chronicles

Yesterday I blogged about my cool Uncle Al and didn’t have time to mention the awesome book he and my dad have been working on called, “The Roberts Chronicles.”  It’s a book about our family history that digs deep into the past beginning in 1810 with my great, great, great grandfather! Three greats, that’s a lot!  Uncle Al started the process with the simple idea of getting a family tree in place and one thing lead to another.  He soon got my dad on board and the two of them, literally, transformed into master genealogists gathering birth records, death records, army files and so much more!  They carefully investigated each piece of information, and over time, the most beautiful stories of relatives past unfolded.  It’s hard to believe that although our DNA is supposedly made up of 26 generations, 13 past and 13 ahead, we know so little about our ancestors.  Congratulations to you both, I believe a masterpiece has been created!  I had the distinct pleasure of designing the book and putting it all together.  I used Adobe’s Lightroom 4 which rocks for those of you who are considering putting your own book together, and blurb.com to print it, another amazing company that empowers anybody to unleash their inner author.  If you’d like to see a preview of the book, feel free to email me directly and I’ll send you the link.  ”The family is one of nature’s greatest masterpieces,” as George Santayana once said, take time to uncover yours!
